M50 Phase 2
Client M50 D&C JV
The M50 Phase 2 contract extends in two sections of work from the M1 interchange to the N3 interchange on the Northern Cross motorway and on the Southern Cross from Firhouse to Sandyford.
The construction works involve the widening of the existing carriageway to three lanes and the upgrade of all junctions to freeflow operations.
TMS were awarded the traffic management contract in December 2007 and commenced operations on the ground in January 2008. The installation of the traffic management for this contract has required the manufacture and procurement of over 50,000 metres of temporary impact protection barriers. To achieve this steep target TMS entered into key supplier partnerships with Deltabloc of Austria to supply the DB65 and with Kant of Belgium to supply the K1 & K2 barrier systems.
The experience TMS barrier crews were augmented with new divisions for the manufacture and production of all traffic management signage, the lining division which has installed all of the temporary lining for the works and the steelworks division who have manufactured all of the temporary sign frames for the works.
The M50 Phase 2 has seen TMS evolve into a complete multi service organisation capable of providing to our customers any service and product associated with temporary traffic management.
